Hey guys! If you’re new to my blog and/or Mommy Monday, welcome! When I was pregnant with my son (now two – almost three!) I had no idea what I was about to experience postpartum. I was completely in love with my perfect baby boy, but also very overwhelmed, emotional and worried. I started this Mommy Monday series to hopefully provide support, resources and connections between moms. You can read about my postpartum experience HERE. Today my friend, Rashelle, is talking about
Mondays feel better when I know I have Mommy Monday to look forward to! I have enjoyed this series so much and love the little community we are all creating with these blog posts! If you are reading this/these blogs, I hope you’re feeling encouraged, less “alone” and motivated to continue on this motherhood journey, knowing that you have a tribe of wonderful women who are just like you. Struggling, emotional, sad, happy, overwhelmed, tired, depressed, anxious, blessed, thrill
Morning mamas! One of my besties, Sarah, is talking today about her experience getting pregnant with her sweet little angel. Even though I already know her story, it was so beautiful to read through and I hope if any of you are going through loss or infertility, you know you are not alone. Sarah and I have been in a bible study together (with our hubby’s) for over three years now. Getting to know her (and their marriage) on a deep level has been a huge blessing! I can’t put i
Yay! It’s Mommy Monday! Today one of my best friends, Heather, is telling a little bit about her birth story. I read this last night and was getting all teary eyed in the beginning (when she talks about our friendship) and then crying laughing later because she’s hilarious!!!!! 🙂 I love you, Heather! Thank you for always keepin it real and making me laugh. Even when life/being a mom is hard and the days are long, she can send me a text and have me laughing in a second. I hop
No, I’m no longer pregnant (thank heavens!). But we took some pics together a few days before we had Blakely. TJ wasn’t able to make it to our maternity photo shoot and I just wanted to get some pictures together with us 4. Even if it was just one good picture (whenever there is a toddler involved, it’s tough to get decent photos)! I have the hardest time capturing Ryder. He sees the camera and takes off running in the other direction. LOL I’m always desperate to capture his
Hi Friends! I’ve had a few people ask my what I pack in my hospital bag. I’ve been meaning to post this for a while but I’ve been consumed by my pretty little baby over here 🙂 When Tooth and I went to the hospital to have Ryder, you would have thought we had packed for a three month vacay! LOL I’m such an over packer and always feel like I’d rather have too many things, than not have the things I want. Especially when having a baby! I had read so many lists of “what to take
I’ve had a few people ask me about stretch mark creams that I use. I have a lot of different things I use but I’m not really sure they make much of a difference? They just make me feel better mentally. Like, “Well, I tried!” My doctor (who I love) is adamant that you can’t prevent stretch marks. And once you get them, there isn’t a lot you can do. She says the best thing to do is to stay hydrated and drink a ton of water. And for some reason, this is really a struggle for me.
How did you find out you were pregnant?
My husband and I were ready and looking forward to getting pregnant with baby #2. I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and was told by my doctor a long time ago to always plan on it being very difficult to get pregnant. When we got pregnant with Ryder I was taking ovulation tests daily so I knew when it was prime time. We were very, very lucky and got pregnant within two months! My doctor was shocked and told me not to expect this
We’re getting so close to meeting our baby girl! I feel like I’ve been pregnant for 100 years! LOL I have been having contractions on and off for quite some time and have actually gotten used to them. For the most part, they don’t bother me all that much. Just a little uncomfortable and it makes me tired. Every now and then I’ll have a few close together that are pretty intense, but they always calm down after a while. So no major false alarms. I’ve been so emotional lately.
I’m so excited to share with you all a recent collaboration I had with PinkBlush Maternity. I have loved this clothing line throughout both pregnancies! Whether I’m buying a cute sweater or a summer dress, I’ve loved everything and have gotten a lot of use out of their cute clothes. I have fallen in love with PinkBlush’s dresses this pregnancy. On days I’m feeling really lazy but still need to look put together, I gravitate toward their dresses because you just throw on these
I’m hoping to get a list of a few EASY snack ideas down before the baby gets here. Because I won’t be able to think straight at that point in my life and need to just have things to grab that are super easy. I don’t know why it was SO hard for me to find time to make myself snacks and meals throughout the day when Ryder was a baby. But this time around, I won’t have a choice because I’ll also need to remember to feed my toddler, too! LOL I love making smoothies at home for a
I have been living in this black dress! It’s so comfortable, you guys. I seriously feel like I’m in a comfy robe when I’m wearing it. The bonus about this dress is that it doubles as a nursing dress. I know this dress will get a LOT of use after the baby comes. I really struggled with what to wear and feeling like I didn’t have a lot of options when Ryder was born when it came to clothing and nursing in public. This dress is super stretchy and allows easy access to nurse in p
This peach dress from PinkBlush is adorable! It’s so lightweight and we all know that is necessary when you are pregnant in the summer heat. I love dresses lately because they are so easy. I really like that it doesn’t take much thought to get ready when wearing a dress, especially when they have cute patterns like this one! The dress is a statement in itself and you don’t need much else to make the outfit interesting. Belt // Necklace My fringe booties are no longer in stock
Struggling to stay cool over here with this big bump! But hooraaaaaay for our A/C getting fixed!! FINALLY! I slept great last night, minus the crazy pregnant dreams. Ha! And I am loving this kimono top that is so thin and cool, but I still feel covered. I love that I’ll be able to wear this with tanks underneath while I breastfeed as well. I remember really struggling with what to wear so I could easily nurse while on the go with Ryder (without having to take my entire top/dr
Hey guys! This dress is from ASOS and it’s so comfy! It’s soft and stretchy and the pattern is so fun. The weather here has been so rainy and cool (considering it’s summer) and this long sleeve dress has been perfect. I have been getting so hot lately – thanks hormones! UGH! So dresses are a go-to for me lately. Wearing tight leggings or denim just seems to trap in the heat even more. This long sleeve dress wouldn’t be good for a hot summer day, but for these cooler days or a
Must Have Items to Survive Pregnancy:
1. Leggings, leggings, leggings!
I live in leggings. I workout in them, lounge in them, play on the ground with Ryder in them. Being comfortable is key for me when pregnant and I couldn’t live without my leggings! I’ve tried many brands/styles and my go-to is the Pea in a Pod brand. I also like the Luxe brand, but they don’t seem to last as long as the Pea in the Pod leggings. I also got a really nice, thick workout pair by Beyond the Bum
Tim and I were able to squeeze in a few trips before the new baby arrives this summer. We decided we wanted to make San Diego our Baby Moon location this time around. Tim had never been and I love it there! I had the HARDEST time leaving Ryder for this trip. I’ve left him for a few days in the past (Tooth surprised me with tickets to Britney Spears in Vegas last year for my birthday, a girl’s trip for me and my best friend. Have I mentioned how awesome my hubby is?!). But Ryd
I thought it would be fun to recap the gender reveal we did in February. We did a gender reveal for our son Ryder in 2013. I felt it wouldn’t be “fair” to me the second baby to skip out on the excitement of a gender reveal. When I was pregnant with Ryder I was so excited about the gender reveal idea and knew exactly how I wanted to do it. So I got busy crafting. The day of the reveal was so emotional. We didn’t realize how much we both wanted a girl and were kind of sad when
