Mommy Monday – Trading Insecurities for Memories

Hey guys! If you’re new to my blog and/or Mommy Monday, welcome! When I was pregnant with my son (now two – almost three!) I had no idea what I was about to experience postpartum. I was completely in love with my perfect baby boy, but also very overwhelmed, emotional and worried. I started this Mommy Monday series to hopefully provide support, resources and connections between moms. You can read about my postpartum experience HERE. Today my friend, Rashelle, is talking about

4th of July Style – Red, White + Blue

It’s almost 4th of July! Yay! We love fireworks, Ryder especially. Last year he was SO cute watching them and saying, “fireworks! Fireworks!!!” over and over again. Cutest thing ever. Tim and I were cracking up. He asked about fireworks every night for months. I hope he gets as excited again this year. He’s the cutest!! Anyway, I love getting the family all dressed up in their Red, white and blue! MERICA! I thought I would link some of the items I’m currently digging that wou

Happy Birthday to MEEEEE + My Beautiful Mess

Well, I’m officially 31! 🙂 My hubby is so sweet to me and always makes me feel so special on my birthday. My mom was in town last weekend, so we got to celebrate with her as well, which was so fun. Tooth surprised me by taking Monday off work (my birthday) and we spent the day together as a family. Later that night, he surprised me with a sushi date with my bestie and her hubby. It was a great day and I’m so grateful for my hubby making me feel so special! (***Note: In no wa

Blakely Gray – Dedication – Red Rocks Church

This past Sunday we Dedicated Blakely. It was such a special day for us! My best friend, Kristin and her hubby, Derek are the God Parents to both our babies. They joined us for Blake’s Dedication, along with Kristin’s parents, Wayne and Gail, and Kristin’s sister, Juliette. We so appreciate their love and support. I have known their family since I was a wee little girl and they are basically family (they had no choice in the matter. I’m pushy like that). Tim and I have no fam

Mommy Monday – Virtual Fist Bump

Hey guys! Welcome back to Mommy Monday. We took a break last week for the holiday but now we’re back at it! (PS Does it feel like Memorial Day was 1,840 years ago to anyone else?!) Today my “cousin” Amanda is sharing. I say “cousin” in quotes because we aren’t actually related. We met in Cali when we were bitty babies (less than one year old) through church. Our families quickly became great friends and we were basically raised together. We were sad to say goodbye to them whe

Blakely Gray – 10 Months Old

WHAT?! How can it be? My baby girl is already 10 months old! In ways it feels like she’s brand new and in other ways it feels like she’s always been with us and our family wouldn’t be complete without her.  She is SO much fun. Newest trick?… Grinding her teeth! EWWW. Nails on a chalk board. Yuck. I think she does it because her new teeth coming in are bugging her? But wowsa. Freaks me out! She still loves playing with Lincoln and isn’t afraid to climb all over him, pull on hi

    Kathleen Peachey Photography

I am just slightly behind in posting these! Oops. But OMG I LOOOOVE THEM! I can’t believe this was almost four months ago! (Insert ugly Kim K cry.) Kathleen has serious talent and captured our adorable babies perfectly. These moments will be treasured forever and ever. I know I’ve said it before, but Kathleen works so well with young kids and babies. She is patient, sweet and makes the entire experience very calm and pleasant. I swear every time we have profession pictures ta

Day at the Park with R+B

Going to the park these days is so much fun. It’s so nice to get some fresh air and let the kids explore. Ryder loves being outside and having the freedom to run, play and be loud! It takes a lot of work to get to the park with two babies, but it’s so worth it! I love having books, snacks, toys and balls to play with when we’re at the park for the afternoon. The weather was perfect and I wasn’t worried about either one getting too cold or too hot. Perfect time of the year! I

Blakely Gray – 9 Months Old

Our bitty babe is nine months old! Suddenly she seems very old! Crawling like crazy (first crawled April 21st) and loving food. She seems like such a big girl eating puffs and baby food. She loves her sippy cup of water and again, it makes her seem so old! Her hair is starting to grow, which is so exciting! I love it. When she lets me, I sit there playing with it, tucking it behind her ears and basically petting her!… UGH I love it. And those adorable teeth. I can hardly cont

Mother’s Day + Our Pink Tree

Happy Mothers Day to all you Mamas out there! Our day was calm and chill. It was just what we needed over here. Tooth let me sleep in and brought me breakfast in bed. AHHH. He even opened the curtains and turned on E! for me. He knows the way to my heart. 😉 We spent the morning at church and then had a lazy afternoon home with the babies. After nap time Tooth surprised me with a new lens I’ve been wanting for my camera! Yay! He spoils me. Then he took me outside and surprise

    Happy Valentines Day!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! These two just melt me. Ryder’s starting to want to “play” with Blakes. She’s always looking at him and smiling or laughing. He loves it! Sometimes he’ll just lay by her and smile at her. Adorable!! If she cries he gets all worried and says, “mommy! Bwakewy sad. Give binki!” And it’s just the sweetest. If we’re in the car and I’m trying to get her to fall asleep I will cover her seat with a blanket so she’s in the dark (she falls asleep and stays asleep

    Family Holiday Photos 2015

So, I know the holidays have come and gone. I still feel like I’m playing catch up with my life. But I wanted to share these amazing photos from Newell Jones and Jones Photography (you can visit their site here). When you’re taking family pictures with kids, you need a photographer that loves kids and is patient. Anna is just that! I told her before the shoot that I didn’t have high expectations for Ryder to cooperate. LOL! I explained that if we get him to just LOOK at the c

    Ice Skating Adventures

Tooth had the day off so we decided to go ice skating this afternoon! I have been wanting to do this, but always worry about it being too cold to go in the evening with the little ones. The weather today was perfect! So we packed up the kiddies and went up to Evergreen for the day. Ryder has never been ice skating and I don’t think he’s even seen it, so he was confused when we were telling him about how you “skate on ice”. We tried to explain, “like slipping or sliding. It’s

    Jesus, Born on This Day

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We had a great time and I’m sad that it’s all over. My hubby and I have no family living here in Colorado. Which makes the holidays feel less exciting at times. I grew up with no extended family around and hated that the holidays always just kinda felt like regular days, just the four of us. After the excitement of opening all of our gifts, it was just us hanging out like we normally did. There is nothing wrong with that! But I always

    Santa! I KNOW HIM!

This year the kids got to see Santa twice! Luckyyyyyyyy! 😉 I wasn’t planning on taking them to the mall Santa. Mostly because of that dang line. Yuck. But we were at Cherry Creek and the line looked really short so we went for it. (We live life on the edge.) There was a family of six in front of us. The kids were quadruplets and I just sat there shamelessly staring at them the entire time! LOL I was just in awe watching these parents and kids. And kinda jealous. I imagine th

    Deck the Halls

Every year we decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving. I know this really irritates some people. And they don’t think Thanksgiving gets the “recognition” it deserves. But I think that’s BANANAS!!! If people want to be excited about trees, hot chocolate, red Starbucks cups, stockings, etc… Why stop them?? People are strangely opinionated about whether or not it’s “ok” to decorate before Thanksgiving. We love Christmas over here. Our tree is up and Christmas music is playing

    Thanksgiving 2015

Seems like Thanksgiving comes and it’s December 1st one second later! I hope you all had a great time with family and friends! This year we were lucky enough to have Tim’s dad, Steve, and his wife, Janis out. My hubby is a lover of Thanksgiving and all the food that comes with it. Me… Not so much. Actually, I kind of hate the food! LOL In fact, the first time I spent the holidays with Tim’s family I thought his sister was going to kick me out of the house when I admitted I do

    Christmas Gift Guide

Hey guys! Here is a quick round up of some of my favorite gift ideas for the ones you love. It is so hard to choose for the babies and toddlers! The options are endless because they still enjoy getting toys. My hubby and I have a harder time trying to come up with gift ideas for our 11 year old! And of course, shopping for my hubby is the ultimate challenge! Hope some of these ideas help! Mens: Moscow Mule Mugs (I got these for Tim years ago and he still loves them!) Par Thre

Blakely Gray – 4 Months Old

Oh my gosh! Where has the time gone?! My pretty baby girl is already 4 months old and we love her more every second! She is the sweetest little thing. Such an easy baby and so smiley. She is definitely a morning person (like her Daddy) and is so chatty right when she wakes up. It’s the cutest and just melts me. Blake’s been in her own room for every nap (when we’re home) and every night for the past 2-3 weeks. She does such a great job! Waking up 1-2 times a night to eat. She

    Adventures in Boulder

This past weekend we ventured off to Boulder with the babies. Tooth and I are always torn between doing “fun” things with kids. Wondering if it’s worth the huge effort to get everyone out the door with feeding schedules, diapers, strollers, jackets, snacks, iPad, blankets, naps, etc. We are always saying, “but what will we do?!”. Because the kids are so little, they can’t really do much. We can’t go skiing. Or go to movies. Or even go ice skating. But I’ve come to the conclus
